Thankfully the SS Engine app allows for EQ and lets the audio drivers perform at their full potential. I have to admit that right out of the box, they sounded kinda muffled and sluggish. The treble has sufficient extension and clarity without sounding sibilant or piercing. Mid-range and vocals sound natural without any harshness. The bass has a decent amount of punch without losing too much definition or sounding muddy. I enjoy a flat, neutral sound signature and with minor EQ adjustments, the A1W can achieve a similar sound profile to my reference earphones. For the convenience of going wireless, I’m willing to sacrifice a tiny bit of audio performance. I wanted a wireless solution for my Switch but after realizing how good they sound, I now use them regularly as my daily drivers. While they’re not perfect and require EQ to sound their best, for their price point and for being wireless, I have to give credit to SS for making such a great pair of cans. Being a long-time audiophile, I wanted to share how surprised and happy I am with the way the Arctis 1 Wireless sounds.
